Olly’s are a nationwide food brand famous for Olly’s Olives, Olly’s Pretzels and Olly’s Thins. They engaged our social media marketing services across March 2022 to improve their online sales. The results? We delivered over £25k worth of sales for £3.3 advertising spend. A return of 760% and the best online sales they have ever had!

Introduction

National snack brand, with 21 different flavour variants across 4 main categories; olives, nuts, pretzel thins and chocolate pretzels.

Successful wholesale agreements with most major supermarkets in the UK, as well as RyanAir, EasyJet and other suppliers around Europe.

Our strategy is to increase direct sales online, grow the community database and increase online brand awareness.

Strategy & Planning

We knew that Olly’s had brand strength around the UK with their presence in stores and supermarkets, as well as commercial airlines, so we decided to capitalise on that and monetise their latent brand awareness.

Activation

We ran perpetual campaigns to get people into their ever growing community with first time direct order offers, often a free box of pretzels with your sign up, along with time specific campaigns that ran between certain dates with offers open to everyone, such as the very successful March Madness month.

The aim is to get both the people that know the brand to buy direct, and the people that haven’t seen the brand to try the products and order. We also focused on increasing average order value and repeat purchasing.

Optimisation & Delivery

As these campaigns progressed we had technologies in place to identify audience characteristics and use those to inform who we should next show the adverts too. This created a dynamically optimising audience which rapidly helped optimise the delivery of these campaigns.

Results

Ads went to cold audiences similar to previous orders, as well as all standard Retargeting audiences. Emails were sent 3 times during promotion period producing noticeable spikes in sales. Target for the month in revenue was £15,000, we hit a final target of £25k.
